Customers of Central Georgetown, please be advised that the reduced level of service being experienced is due to the delayed shipment of alum, a chemical used to treat water taken from the East Demerara Water Conservancy. As such, the Guyana Water Inc. has moved to pump mainly from its underground source, resulting in a reduction in level of service.

The following adjusted pumping schedule from the Shelter Belt Water Treatment Plant has taken effect until August 31, 2018.

Peak hours (5:00 - 9:00hrs, 11:30 – 12:30hrs and 16.00 to 21.00hrs) customers will receive a normal service level.

Off-peak hours (9:00 – 11:30hrs, 12:30 - 16.00hrs and 21:00 to 5:00hrs) customers will receive a reduced level of service.

Customers residing in Kitty, Campbellville, Subryanville, Bel Air, Queenstown, Alberttown, Bourda, Robbstown, Lacytown, Cummingsburg, Wortmanville, Lodge, Thomas Lands, Charlestown and Albouystown are asked to take note.

GWI apologises for any inconvenience caused, as it works to restore your service to normalcy.
