GWI UNDERTAKES CRITICAL UPGRADES TO AMELIA’S WARD WATER TREATMENT PLANT
The Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) is pleased to announce the essential upgrades to the Amelia’s Ward Water Treatment Plant. This significant project, spearheaded and executed by GWI’s own staff, reinforces the agency's commitment to enhancing water quality and service reliability for residents of Linden.
The upgrades, which focused on improving both the efficiency and capacity of the plant with the installation of two new filters and a well, reflect GWI's dedication to ensuring all technical and engineering work aligns with the highest standards. GWI’s internal team of engineers and technical personnel led every phase of this project, from planning to execution, furthering our mission to deliver sustainable and high-quality water solutions to the communities we serve.
"By taking on this project in-house, we demonstrated the expertise and capability of our team to deliver complex upgrades efficiently and with a focus on quality," said Mr. Rawle Friday, Regional Manager – Region 10. "Our staff is well-versed in the specific needs of Linden and is committed to providing consistent and safe water access for all residents."
The upgrades that are being done will positively impact the water supply, and customers in Amelia’s Ward can expect increased consistency and quality in their water service once the new well is activated and commissioned. This initiative also underscores GWI’s strategic decision to prioritize in-house upgrades where possible, enabling closer management, cost-effectiveness, and fostering local expertise.
This new upgrade will be commissioned soon and bring necessary relief to the residents of Region 10.
